WHOLESALE PRICES RISE IN THAILAND

Thai wholesale prices in July were up 10.3 percent from a year earlier and up 0.9 percent from June, the Commerce Ministry said Wednesday.

The biggest year-on-year rise was 26.3 percent in the cost of animal feeds, which has a 3.5 percent weighting in the ministry's wholesale-price index.Animal-feed prices also led the rise from June to July, gaining 6.4 percent.

Thailand's wholesale-price index stood at 149.7 points in July (1985 equals 100).

July producer prices also were up on the year, but some fell from June.

Raw-material prices rose 24.4 percent from July 1994 and 0.9 percent

from June.
