SWEDISH INSURER ASSETS ROSE 24 PERCENT IN QUARTER

Swedish insurance companies had a total balance sheet value of 520 billion Swedish kronor (6.008 kronor=$1) after the first quarter of 1990, according to a report by the Private Insurance Inspectorate.

Their assets in non-Swedish currencies increased 24 percent in the first quarter to 39 billion kronor, the report said.The companies' net investment during the period was 13 billion kronor, of which almost 6 billion was invested in non-Swedish stocks.
