SAN ONOFRE UNIT TO BE REFUELED

One of the three nuclear reactors at the San Onofre power plant was shut down for refueling over the weekend, Southern California Edison Co. announced.

The Unit 3 reactor was shut down Saturday for a refueling expected to take until mid-July, said Edison spokesman Dave Barron.Meanwhile, the Unit 1 reactor was out of service for minor modifications expected to take until the end of May and Unit 2 was operating at 100 percent power, the company said.
