Florida East Coast Railway Tuesday unveiled a new online portal that allows the regional railroad’s customers to track freight shipments and equipment across its network.
"The FECR Connect portal makes scheduling, planning and tracing shipments efficient and convenient for our customers," James R. Hertwig, railway president and CEO, said in a statement.
With 351 miles of mainline track along the east coast of Florida, FECR is the exclusive rail provider to South Florida’s ports. The new web-based portal, available now, is aimed at streamlining the process of submitting and managing shipping instructions electronically across that network, Hertwig said.
A customer dashboard online can provide customers with a comprehensive view of all shipments in the FECR system at any time, as well as the narrowed, detailed history of particular shipments.
The portal is a secured network and does require customers register before use. All customers logging into FECR Connect will need a login ID and a password to access the portal.
