Gil Carmichael, transportation policy leader, dies at 88

Gilbert E. Carmichael, a courtly, silver-haired Mississippian who made a mark in business, politics, and as head of the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration and founder of the University of Denver’s Intermodal Transportation Institute, has died.
