Port of Los Angeles to Develop Energy Management Program

The Port of Los Angeles will develop an energy management action plan to improve and assess energy efficiency at the container port.

The E-MAP, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, marine terminal operators and other stakeholders will help the port identify, develop and implement various programs to improve energy efficiency, reliability, quality, cost and resiliency, while keeping up with the accelerating electrification and energy demand at the port.

“Improving our energy resiliency will also reduce the port’s vulnerability in the case of natural or manmade events,” added Geraldine Knatz, the port’s executive director, in a written statement.
