Port Everglades Names Anderton to Planning Post

David Anderton, Port Everglades' new assistant director of strategic planning and development.

Port Everglades has promoted David Anderton, seaport planning expert, to the newly created position of assistant director of strategic planning and development, according to Steven Cernak, the Florida port’s chief executive and port director.

In the role, Anderton will provide oversight and direction for the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans, including facilities planning, capital improvements programming and implementing the port’s five-year, $500 million Capital Improvements Program. He will also oversee capital grants and federal and state legislative efforts in coordination with Broward County’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and Professional Standards.

Anderton began working at the port in 2002.
