Jaxport Mile Point Project Awarded $38 Million

Florida’s Governor Rick Scott has announced a commitment of $38 million in state and local funding to complete the second stage of the TraPac Container Terminal project at Jacksonville Port Authority.

The investment enables Jaxport to jumpstart the final phase of fixing navigational problems in the St. Johns River at Mile Point from its previously uncertain start date, which was dependent on federal funding.

Governor Scott is committing $36 million with a $2 million match from Jaxport. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will engineer, construct and complete the Phase II project.
