Fred Burns Jr., president of Burns Motor Freight was named chairman of the American Trucking Associations, the nation''s largest trucking industry trade and advocacy group.

Forward Air, Greenville, Tenn., promoted its president, Bruce Campbell, from chief operating officer to CEO. Campbell has been with the air freight trucker for 13 years. Former CEO Scott Noswinger will become nonexecutive chairman of the board.

Pegasus TransTech, Tampa, Fla., a provider of truck stop scanning and business process improvement services, named Chris Hines president of its Transportation Division. A former president of GE Capital''s North American trailer leasing business, TIP, Hines received the American Trucking Association''s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.

Lynden International, a division of forwarder Lynden Air Freight, Seattle, appointed Randy Prevette director of Europe business development. Jim Burt and Danny Rager have joined the company as district manager in Boston and as an account executive in Dallas, respectively.

Cornerstone Systems announced the appointment of Amy Myron as account manager in its Seattle office.

Dayton Freight Lines Inc. announced that Tom Koch, account manager of its Milwaukee service center, was the recipient of its salesperson of the year award.

Kirk Tilley, vice president of Tandet NationLease located in Oakville, Ontario, was elected to the NationLease board of directors representing Canada.

UniSpot, a division of Unico, Inc. appointed Stewart Intagliata division vice president.

Webplan Corp. appointed Ron Ariana executive vice president of global field operations.

Schneider National Inc. announced that Efrain Cantu Delgado joined the company as regional account manager in its Monterrey, Mexico, office. Rafael Moreno was named product development director for Mexico.

The Department of Homeland Security appointed Jason Klitenic deputy general counsel.

John S. Connor, Baltimore, named Lisa M. Shawler manager of its new logistics branch office in Louisville, Ky.

The National Industrial Transportation League announced the promotion of Ellie Gilanshah to vice president of finance and administration.

Aviation Facilities Co. named Charles Stipancic to the new post of chief operating officer. Stipancic had been vice president of corporate real estate at US Airways.

Todd Pacific Shipyards, a wholly owned subsidiary of Todd Shipyards Corp., named Dale E. Baugh to the new position of director of ship repair processes and resource development.

GeoLogistics, the California-based logistics company, hired 30-year industry veteran James Seiple as vice president of air products for its Americas division. Seiple was most recently director of corporate air products at BDP International.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, promoted Joseph J. McAleese to president and chief executive officer. Robert S. Oswald, former chief executive officer, will continue to serve as chairman.

Brokers Logistics announced the appointment of Diana Tobias as facility manager at its Laredo, Texas warehouse.

The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, announced the appointment of Keith Thomson as director of its Office of Trade Relations.

Custom packaging and shipping services provider Navis Logistics Network hired John Fyfe as director of franchise services. He had been a senior executive for northAmerican Logistics.

Donald B. Snyder, former logistics manager at Mattel, joined the Port of Long Beach as marketing manager. He had been at Mattel for six years and worked at Sea-Land Services for 10 years before joining Mattel.
