Port of NY/NJ gets dredging funds

The Port of New York and New Jersey has obtained important federal support for its project to deepen its channels to 50 feet when the House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the Fiscal Year 2004 Energy and Water Conference Agreement.

The agreement includes $110 million for the ongoing dredging of the navigation channels serving the port, a project that is expected to take most of this decade to complete and cost some $2.5 billion
