PEOPLE - TRADE AUSTRALIA APPOINTS NY CONSUL-GENERAL

Chris Hurford was named the Australian consul-general in New York. He was formerly a minister in the Australian government and a member of the Australian Parliament since 1969 until his resignation last December to come to the United States.

He succeeds John Taylor, who left New York last week on a long service leave. According to a source in the consulate, Mr. Taylor plans to return to the private sector.BRAZILIAN-AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (New York) - J. Roberto David de Azevedo was named to a two-year term as president of the Brazilian-Amer ican Chamber of Commerce. He is the New York City general manager of Banco Economico S.A., the oldest bank in Brazil.

Mr. de Azevedo succeeds Harry Heneberger Jr., a vice president of Citibank, N.A.
