NY PORT AUTHORITY, CITY AMEND LEASE PACT

The city of New York and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey said they amended their lease agreement for the Howland Hook Container Terminal on Staten Island, ending a long-running dispute between the two agencies.

The new agreement frees up $25 million in development money for the container terminal once occupied by United States Lines Inc., and the bi-state port authority said it would move ahead with the rehabilitation project.
