NEWARK, N.J. -- Commonwealth Business Media announced today that Capt. TPM, organized by Journal of Commerce Conferences, is an event focused exclusively on educating participants about trends and strategies employed in the trans-Pacific ocean container market. The conference will take place March 8-9 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach in Long Beach, California.

As the leadoff speaker at the conference, Capt. Wei is leading the transformation of Cosco, China's largest shipping company, from a traditional shipping company into a logistics services provider. He was appointed group president and chief executive of Cosco in 1998.

"We are very pleased that Capt. Wei Jiafu will provide his perspective on the issues currently facing the trans-Pacific market at TPM," said Alan Glass, Chairman, President and Chief Executive of Commonwealth Business Media and Publisher of The Journal of Commerce.
