Container ship owner-lessor Seaspan took delivery of the 8,500-TEU Cosco Vietnam from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The new container ship was chartered to Cosco Container Lines at a fixed rate for 12 years with options for a three-year extension.

The vessel is the last of eight 8,500-TEU sister ships and the 10th of a total of 18 vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Cosco. It is Seaspan's fourth delivery in 2011 and expands the company's operating fleet to 59 vessels.
Seaspan has an additional 10 container ships scheduled for delivery through March 2012.
