Eimskip has announced several changes in its sailing schedule in order to expand its service in the North Atlantic.
The carrier has added a new weekly coastal route in Iceland, connecting Iceland with the Faroe Islands, the U.K. and mainland Europe. Eimskip’s vessels will make weekly calls in Reykjavík, Isafjördur, Akureyri and Reydarfjördur in Iceland. The Brύarfoss vessel departs from Reykjavík, Iceland, on its first coastal route on March 14.
Eimskip has also increased frequency and improved transit time on its route to and from the U.S., making it possible for the vessels to call, among others, Akureyri and Isafjördur on their way from Norway.
Additionally, as previously announced, Eimskip will start calling Portland, Maine, on the U.S. East Coast, replacing Everett and Norfolk, Va., starting March 26. The carrier also recently opened an office in Gdynia, Poland, as part of these changes.
