Caribbean Shipowners Association Postpones April Rate Hike

Member carriers of the Caribbean Shipowners Association have postponed the rate increase scheduled for April 28 to June 16.

The increase is applicable to all contract and tariff rates, northbound and southbound, between the U.S. and all CSA Caribbean Basin service destinations.

The hike will be $75 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container. For containers larger than 40 feet, the increase will be $169. The hike will be $44 each for vehicles not exceeding 700 cubic feet, and $3.50 per weight or measurement per 40 cubic feet per 2,000 pounds for vehicles exceeding 700 cubic feet and breakbulk less-than-containerload vehicles. Per cubic foot of LCL, the increase will be $0.09, and per centum weight of 100 pounds, the increase will be $0.18.
