Yusen Logistics Installs Solar Power System at NJ Facility

Logistics, supply chain and freight forwarding company Yusen Logistics recently opened its largest solar power generation system at its Port Murray, N.J., warehouse.

The solar power generation system is comprised of 6,246 solar panels arranged in 11 rows, covering a 14,700 square foot plot next to the company’s warehouse. The 500-kilowatt system is expected to generate approximately 650,000 kilowatt hours of electricity a year, with overall reduction in carbon emissions expected to exceed 200 tons annually.

The opening ceremony was attended by Hiromitsu Kuramoto, Yusen’s president, and Kazuo Ishizuka, president of Yusen Logistics’ Americas branch, as well as executives from partnering companies.
