Valley Cartage will open its Supply Chain Logistics Service Center in Lake Elmo, Minn., in May.
The expansion will increase Valley Cartage’s footprint in the Midwest, building on the presence of the transportation and logistics company’s established facilities in Hudson and LaCrosse, Wis.; Duluth, Mankato and St. Cloud, Minn.; and Fargo, N.D.
“Our original plans were to locate our Supply Chain Logistics Service Center here in Hudson, but we simply could not find a facility that met our requirements,” said Todd Gilbert, president, CEO and owner of Valley Cartage, in a written statement.
However, Valley Cartage will continue to expand in Hudson, the company said. The Lake Elmo facility will allow the Hudson facility to focus on the asset-based freight operations, the expected increase in volume and new specialty services, Valley Cartage added.
