U.K.-based Kerry Logistics has completed a new office in Portugal, allowing the third-party logistics provider to better serve southwest Europe and get better access to Africa and South American markets, particularly Brazil.
The new location will be in Portugal’s second city of Porto, which is known as much for being a European industrial hub as the home of a sweet wine.
"It was a natural decision for us to expand into a region where we have seen a strong and growing demand for diversified logistics services,” the company said in a statement.
The freight forwarder, supply chain manager, and logistics services provider has expanded globally in the past year. It has entered the Chinese courier market in addition to acquiring logistics firms in Canada and Dubai to bolster its services. The company has also started a joint-venture in New Zealand.
