Averitt Express LTL trucking terminals in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, were open Sept. 5, providing limited service. “We will be attempting all areas around Beaumont Tuesday,” the company said. In Houston, pickup and delivery in Lake Jackson and Freeport is limited.

Central Freight Lines expects the majority of its customers in Houston to reopen Tuesday, Sept. 5. On Friday, Sept. 1, the less-than-truckload carrier’s Houston terminal was operating on a limited basis. “We had 35 pickup and delivery drivers show up for work today. Our usual daily number is 75 drivers in Houston,” the Waco, Texas-based company said on its website. Central Freight restored line-haul LTL service from Fort Worth, Texas, to Houston, but some locations in its metropolitan service area remain inaccessible as flood waters recede and recovery efforts continue.

Estes Express has closed terminals in Houston and Corpus Christi, and is reporting delays at terminals in Laredo, McAllen, and San Antonio.

Frozen Food Express, a refrigerated trucking firm in Lancaster, Texas, plans to begin delivering freight destined for Houston Sept. 5. “Our plan is to deliver freight with oldest due dates first,” the company said on its website. “However, there are still several customers that are not open. We may also experience delays in appointments as some customers have several carriers delivering to the same locations.” The carrier is accepting orders for delivery the week of Sept. 11 but warns delays could continue.

Old Dominion Freight Line's Beaumont, Texas service center is experiencing severe disruptions and delays, as many roadways in the area remain flooded. Terminals in Houston and South Houston were operating at 50 percent capacity Tuesday, Sept. 5, with limited pickups. Service in Corpus Christi is also limited, with delays expected. Shippers can check the ioperational status of ODFL terminals through the LTL carrier’s online operations level map.
Pinch Transport in an email reported that its Houston office would open Thursday, Aug. 31 and that the company's Midland/Odessa, Texas, and Oklahoma LTL is up and running as usual.

Port Houston reports the Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminals will operate from 7 am to 5 pm, with a 4 pm cutoff for inbound trucks, but breakbulk terminals farther up the ship channel remain closed to vessel traffic. R + L Carriers said shipments destined to the Houston area will be impacted until their service center is able to operate safely. It said affected areas include Houston and surrounding markets, all coastal areas, including Victoria, and limited service in Corpus Christi.
SalSon Logistics reports its Houston staff is safe and working from their homes as the drayage company continues to monitor conditions.
Saia said all freight to Houston is embarged and the following terminals will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2017: Beaumont, TX, Houston, TX. Operations are limited at the company's Lake Charles, LA, terminal while there is limited delivery at terminals in Lafayatte, and New Orleans, LA because of low-lying flooding.
