He also was overseas director in the U.K. from 2006 to 2007, before moving to a central position as merger director for Geodis Wilson’s acquisition and integration activities. He became managing director for Geodis in India in 2008.

Voelcker, who is replacing Bach-Larsen in India, will be responsible for growth and development of the company in one of its markets of “strategic focus,” according to the freight management company. Within the next five years, Geodis aims to double the size of its India business.

Voelcker has more than 21 years of experience in freight forwarding. He started his career in 1992 in Germany. He joined Rohde & Liesenfeld in 2003 as managing director of Colombia, before the company was acquired by Geodis Wilson in 2007.
