Tom Escott, chief executive officer of GeoLogistics Corp.''s Americas Division, is leaving the company to become president of Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider Logistics Inc. He took up his new position Oct. 3.

Escott is an experienced logistics manager both domestically and in international markets. At GeoLogistics he was responsible for the company''s international freight forwarding and third-party logistics operations in North America and Latin America.

But his technology background is particularly relevant for Schneider''s service portfolio. He founded ShipLogix, a vendor of web-hosted transportation management solutions, a core business area for Schneider as both a solutions provider and a logistics services company.

Schneider has been without a president since the departure of Rodger Mullen this summer. Brian Hancock, vice president and general manager, was given overall responsibility for the logistics business, and he will continue in that role. Like his predecessor Escott will be part of Schneider''s executive leadership team and will set a strategic course for the 3PL. It remains to be seen how he intends to grow the Schneider Logistics portfolio but the organization''s stated goal is to broaden its service and geographic footprint.

Bill Flynn, president and chief executive officer of GeoLogistics, will assume direct responsibility for the organization''s Americas region on an interim basis.
