Supply chain software company RedPrairie acquired SmartTurn, an inventory and warehouse management software developer. The acquisition adds a multi-tenant, scalable software-as-a-service WMS product to RedPrairie's software lineup.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"The continued growth and emphasis in supply chain execution requires that all companies, regardless of size, have access to technologically advanced inventory and WMS solutions," said Mike Mayoras, RedPrairie CEO.
SmartTurn's WMS program can be implemented at distribution operations of all sizes and levels of complexity, Mayoras said.
When integrated with RedPrairie’s other software, "we believe existing barriers to collaboration with supply partners will be erased," giving shippers greater visibility into their supply chains, he said.
The inventory and warehouse software will be particularly useful in connecting large distribution operations and smaller partners that don't have a WMS, said Mayoras.
