FreightDesk, Telaterra in co-op pact

Freight Desk Technologies and Telaterra Software signed a joint agreement today to develop a technology system for port community management in Jordan.

The agreement was signed during a U.S. trade mission visit to Jordan, organized by the Jordanian Information Technology Association and the North Virginia Technology Council, in association with Jordan's Embassy to the United States. The trade mission included meetings with Jordan's King Abdullah, various government ministries, and the Jordanian technology community, the companies said.

The partners say their ultimate goal is to enable ports in the region to comply with U.S. and global standards for exporting shipments. Jordan is seeking a greater role as a gateway for Mid-East trade.

The companies said they plan to have more meetings with the freight forwarding, shipping and trade communities to enable them to build a system that will not only deal with U.S. and global trade security concerns, but which will bring new decision tools and efficiency to the growing Jordanian trade community.

Freight Desk Technologies, of McLean, Va., is a software vendor to port authorities and U.S. Defense intelligence agencies, among other entities.

Telaterra Software LLC. is an e-Business software development company, headquartered in Jordan.
