EXPRESS CARRIER GROUP

SETS UP LATIN OFFICEThe International Express Carriers Conference has established a Latin American affiliate.

The IECC is a London-based trade organization that represents companies that handle express packages.

The Latin American group, Conferencia Latino American de Empresas Courier, was formed to deal with problems carriers face in Latin America, primarily slow clearing of items through customs.

The new organization will have headquarters in Montevideo, Uruguay, with an office in Miami.

AVIANCA TAKES DELIVERY

OF 1ST BOEING 767-200

SEATTLE - Avianca, the flag carrier of Colombia, took delivery Tuesday of its first Boeing Co. 767-200 jetliner.

A second Boeing 767-200ER will be delivered to the airline later this year. The new twinjets will replace Boeing 707s on Avianca's international routes.

TWA OPENS SALES HUB

FOR PACKAGES IN ILLINOIS

CHICAGO - Trans World Airlines has started a Next Flight Out small package sales center here. The NFO Center is staffed from 7 a.m. to midnight daily by specially trained agents.

TWA's Next Flight Out service can be used for packages weighing up to 70 pounds.

TWA provides seven-day-a- week, same-day service for domestic shipments and next-day delivery for international shipments to Europe.

USAIR TO FLY TO D.C.

FROM JACKSONVILLE, FLA.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - USAir will begin non-stop service from Jacksonville International Airport to Washington National Airport on May 2.

This new service will be operated with a DC-9 jet aircraft.
