Volga-Dnepr appoints Asia sales agents

Volga-Dnepr, the Russian-based airline specializing in outsized and heavyweight cargo, said it has improved its sales and marketing network in Asia Pacific by naming new general sales agents in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The carrier said the appointments reflect growing demand in the region for Volga-Dnepr's Antonov An-124 freighter aircraft. The carrier's network of sales agents in Asia already covered India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Australia. It also has its own sales office in Beijing.

"As the economic recovery in the region gathers pace, there is unlimited potential among both our existing and future customers," said Richard Smith, business development manager. Asia-Pacific has already been a major market for Volga-Dnepr.

In Thailand, the airline has appointed Ican Transport International Co., in Bangkok as its exclusive representative. Worldwide Airline Resource Management Inc. is Volga-Dnepr's new sales agent for the Philippines. It is based in Quezon City.

Pacific-Airlift (Singapore) Pte is expanding its existing two-year business relationship with Volga-Dnepr to include Malaysia and Indonesia.
