Steen Replaces Ogiermann at Airline Group

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings executive Michael Steen will replace Ulrich Ogiermann as chairman of The International Air Cargo Association, the worldwide group announced.

Ogiermann, the former president and CEO of Cargolux Airlines International, "decided to retire" from the association position last month, the group said, a month after he was indicted on charges of taking part in a global cargo price-fixing conspiracy.

Steen, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Atlas, praised Ogiermann as someone who was "instrumental in forging closer relationships" with other industry groups, work Steen said would continue.

Ogiermann is the highest ranking air cargo executive to face charges so far in a global investigation that has led to jail terms for a handful of officials and more than $2 billion in fines and penalties against airlines.
