Cargolux returns to Lagos

Cargolux Airlines International will resume service to its former African destination of Lagos, Nigeria, as of June 13.

The flight is operated every Sunday with 747-400 freighter aircraft from the airline's base at Luxembourg, departing at 1:30 p.m. local time, with arrival in Lagos at 8.45 p.m. From Lagos, the flight continues to Kinshasa, Zaire and Nairobi, Kenya and returns from there to Maastricht and Luxembourg.

The carrier said traffic includes drilling equipment for Nigeria's oil and gas industries, as well as general cargo.

Cargolux also announced a second frequency to Kinshasa, departing Thursday from Luxembourg at 10.40 p.m. local time, with arrival in Kinshasa on Friday mornings at 3:40 a.m. This flight is continued to Johannesburg and Nairobi before returning to Maastricht and Luxembourg on Saturday mornings.

The Kinshasa flight includes freight from Europe, the U.S., the Gulf region, India and Asia.

In Africa Cargolux also serves Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Accra, Ghana, Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg.
