Emirates SkyCargo to Boost Capacity to Tokyo

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of the Emirates airline, is set to increase its cargo capacity to Tokyo when Emirates launches a non-stop daily flight between Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Haneda Airport in Japan.

With the new daily flight to Haneda, Emirates SkyCargo will be able to provide an additional 210 metric tons of cargo capacity per week, supporting Japanese exports of mechanical components, electronic goods and automobile parts, as well as its imports of gas and oil products.

“Haneda is also conveniently located close to [Tokyo], which gives it the distinct advantage for perishable imports, such as fish and flowers, to be cleared faster after the midnight arrival, which reduces time to market,” said Ravishankar Mirle, Emirates’ vice president of commercial cargo for East and West Asia, Australasia and the Indian Ocean, in a written statement.
