American Airlines' Cargo Volume Dropped in March

The parent of American Airlines, AMR Corporation, reported March cargo figures for its principal subsidiary, showing a slump to 161,063 million ton miles, down 4.6 percent from the 168,775 million ton miles reported in March 2012.

For the three months to March 31, ton miles dropped to 410,130 million, a 7.8 percent decrease year-over-year from the 444,830 million reported for the same period in 2012.
