Cargo Volumes Up Sharply at ANA, JAL

Japan’s All Nippon Airways Co. (ANA) said that its international cargo volume rose for the eighth straight month in October on a year-on-year basis, surging 12.3 percent to 53,576 tons.

ANA’s domestic cargo volume grew for five months in a row in October on a year-on-year basis, increasing 5.8 percent to 44,977 tons.

Meanwhile, rival Japan Airlines Corp. (JAL) said that its international cargo volume rose for the seventh successive month in October on a year-on-year basis, soaring 12.6 percent to 24,349 tons.

JAL’s domestic cargo volume rose for the eighth consecutive month in October on a year-on-year basis, increasing 4.9 percent to 35,153 tons.

ANA and JAL both release monthly passenger and cargo figures without giving any analysis.
