AirBridgeCargo Reports Cargo Growth

AirBridgeCargo Airlines

AirBridgeCargo Airlines transported 92,000 tons of cargo in the third quarter of 2013, a 3 percent year-over-year increase, partially driven by “strong inbound growth” generated on its main routes.

In September, the Russian air cargo carrier transported 31,000 tons of cargo, increasing 2 percent from the same period last year.

The airline said its 2013 campaign to develop import traffic into Russia has been paying off, as import volume in July, August and September climbed 13 percent over last year to a record 24,000 tons. The inbound growth generated on its main routes accounted for 26 percent of ABC’s total cargo volume in this reporting period.

ABC’s available freight ton kilometers and freight ton kilometers for the three-month period rose 15 percent and 18 percent, respectively. Load factors were also higher, up 2 percent to 72 percent.

During the third quarter, ABC took delivery of its fourth new generation Boeing 747-8F. Its fleet now consists of 11 freighters.

“In the third quarter, we continued moving forward and have shown positive development results on our key operational performance indicators, which reconfirms the progress and value of our long-term strategy to improve the quality of our product and operational efficiency,” Denis Ilin, ABC’s executive president, said in a written statement.
