YRC Shipment Protection Program Offers Two Levels of Freezable Protection
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sept. 17, 2009 – YRC Inc., a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: YRCW), announced today the YRC Shipment Protection program designed to protect shipments that have the potential to freeze during transport. The program features two levels of service – Freezable Protection and Insulated Covers – ensuring customers with freezable products, such as chemicals, bottled beverages, pharmaceuticals and flower bulbs, can easily ship with confidence.
Freezable Protection uses special handling procedures, weather monitoring and indicators in the YRC tracking system to protect freezable shipments. As an optional, extra level of protection, more than 14,000 technically-engineered, environmentally-friendly insulated covers are available throughout the YRC network to insulate drums, pallets and totes.

Freezable Protection is available year round with pickups Monday through Friday for all direct service points in the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico. In addition to standard operating procedures in transit, “warm rooms” are used over the weekend as necessary to protect freezable shipments.
Taking advantage of Freezable Protection and Insulated Covers is easy: Customers simply mark their Bill of Lading (BOL) with “Protect from freezing at _____ °F” or “Cover protection required.”
