CSA 2010 Carrier & Driver Scorecard-- the only offering of its kind in the industry-- is propelling a rapidly rising number of motor carriers to adopt the Vigillo Scorecard solution.

Portland, Oregon – January 13, 2010— Vigillo LLC, provider of a web-based risk management platform for the delivery of policies, forms, training, assessments and management reports to the trucking industry, today announced that with rapid expansion through the fall of 2009 it is now meeting the needs of over 300 fleets and nearly 350,000 drivers. The growth experienced by the company is the direct result of its latest offering, the CSA 2010 Carrier & Driver Scorecard, which provides trucking companies with an advance look at new government safety data.

“Since introducing the CSA 2010 Carrier & Driver Scorecard four months ago we’ve been growing very rapidly,” says Steven G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “In October of last year we had about 35,000 fleet drivers on our system. At the end of 2009 we were providing services to well over 300 fleets of mostly 100 drivers or more, totaling 342,993 drivers. This growth is mostly from word of mouth referrals by fleets that use our Scorecard, see its value and pass along Vigillo’s name as the only provider of CSA 2010 scorecards.

“There are no secrets in safety because it’s too important to everyone who shares the road,” Bryan adds. “By the end of this year, we expect to triple the number of drivers and have more than one million drivers on the system. That would represent one third of the drivers impacted by CSA 2010, and cover almost half of the fleets with more than 100 drivers.”

A new system of measuring fleet safety that will be the basis for regulating and enforcing safe driving and operating practices, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) initiative is now being tested in nine states. The more comprehensive enforcement and compliance model, which includes seven BASICs (Behavioral Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories), and built-in and automatic intervention levels, is set to replace the existing SafeStat program in summer 2010.

The CSA 2010 Carrier & Driver Scorecard from Vigillo provides trucking companies with an advance look at their fleet safety data that will be included in the new FMCSA program. It uses the same carrier and driver data applied to FMCSA CSA 2010 methodologies to produce the same measures that will be used when CSA 2010 takes effect, and presents them accurately in an easy to understand and actionable Scorecard format.

“CSA 2010 represents a significant increase in government oversight of carriers and drivers,” Bryan states. “Our growth is a result of our ability to look forward and anticipate the needs of motor carriers and drivers. The CSA 2010 Carrier & Driver Scorecard provides a head start on the new safety scoring system, and Vigillo is the only company with this capability.”
