U.S. Congressman Mica to Deliver JAXPORT Conference Keynote Address

Jacksonville, FL, January 26, 2011 – U.S. Rep. John Mica (R-FL), Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, will be the keynote speaker at the JAXPORT 2011 Logistics & Intermodal Conference on March 22 at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Rep. Mica will discuss his vision for U.S. transportation policy and how to best use federal resources to address the significant needs and challenges facing the nation’s transportation infrastructure. The House Committee has broad jurisdiction over the nation’s transportation systems, including those involving its highways, transit, rail, the Coast Guard, maritime shipping, water resources and related economic development projects.

Rep. Mica represents the 7th Congressional District of Florida, which stretches across six counties from the suburban areas north of Orlando to the Jacksonville city limits.
More than 350 senior level transportation and logistics executives from around the country will attend the conference, designed to examine issues affecting the nation’s logistics and intermodal industries. After Rep. Mica’s morning presentation, conference panelists will discuss innovative funding concepts for U.S. transportation projects; ideas to grow U.S. exports through increased domestic manufacturing; and the future of the nation’s intermodal transportation system.

In addition to Rep.
