Troy Container Line Appoints new Chief Operating Officer

RED BANK, NJ (Sept. 23, 2011) – Troy Container Line Ltd., one of the largest American-owned NVOCCs, today announced the appointment of two key personnel to executive positions. Patricia L. Fitzgerald has been promoted to chief operating officer of the company’s export department, while Chris Hellow, based at Troy’s Charlotte, N.C. office, has been announced as chief operating officer of the company’s import department.

Both Fitzgerald and Hellow are longtime employees of Troy Container Line. Their respective departmental expertise; ability to manage employees; work with counterparts worldwide; and, most importantly, maintain Troy’s unwavering dedication to customer service makes them incredible assets to the New Jersey-based shipping company.

In her new position, Fitzgerald will oversee the day-to-day operations of Troy’s LCL and full container services to more than 500 ports around the world. Fitzgerald first joined Troy 14 years ago as a sales executive, bringing a decade of industry experience and strong international relationships to the company. Prior to being named chief operating officer, she held upper-management positions at Troy including senior vice president of LCL Export. Her results-driven approach is augmented by her affinity for working with Troy’s international partners and agents. Fitzgerald is a graduate of Schiller International University. She studied in London and Paris before earning a bachelor’s degree in international business.

Hellow’s appointment as chief operating officer of imports includes his continued management of Troy’s Charlotte, N.C. office. While he has overseen the varied responsibilities associated with the import department since 2001, Hellow’s new appointment includes working to develop new trade lanes, negotiating vendor rates, fostering relationships with agencies around the world, and overseeing the company’s expansion in the South Atlantic region. Hellow joined Troy in 1998, quickly making a transition from sales to imports. A New Jersey native, Hellow completed his bachelor’s degree at Montclair State University.
