Transportation Dispute Resolution, LLC, a new organization providing mediation and arbitration services to the transportation industry, launched its operations today. The company is headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, with offices in three other states. The company's panel of mediators/arbitrators consists of retired transportation attorneys expert in all forms of transportation, including rail, motor, ocean and air carriage, involved with shippers, carriers and intermediaries.
Michael Roper, a member of the firm and a former attorney with BNSF Railway Company, noted that "all of the federal regulatory agencies dealing with transportation have encouraged the use of mediation and arbitration in resolving transportation disputes. We hope to be able to fulfill that need."
Ann Pougiales, another member of the firm formerly in the private practice of transportation law, commented that "I am excited to be part of a firm focused on facilitating the timely and cost-effective resolution of disputes involving transportation issues. The depth of experience of our panel will bring needed credibility to the resolution of transportation disputes that have too often been ineffective because the mediator or arbitrator lacked knowledge of the transportation industry. Our members have worked with all sectors of the industry."
Other members of the firm include William McCurdy, a former judge, General Counsel with Sentinel Transportation, LLC and Logistics and Commerce Counsel with E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company; and Nicholas DiMichael, who was former General Counsel of the National Industrial Transportation League and has represented a wide variety of companies engaged in transporting products domestically and internationally.
