CyberLogitec implemented a DR Center at Pusan Newport, Korea’s largest distribution center

Pusan Newport Company Ltd. (PNC), which handles Korea’s largest container traffic, has implemented a Disaster Recovery (DR) Center in case of natural disasters or accidents.

Korea’s maritime logistics IT company CyberLogitec has implemented the system and put it into operations within 5 month, which is significantly meaningful in terms of being the first full-scale DR Center in Korea.

Unlike the past DR system which simply provided remote data duplication, PNC’s DR Center not only has real time data duplication but also supports the port’s auto equipment and other internal/external system interfaces based on virtualization solution. Also, it is Korea’s first attempt in building a DR Center at an automatic terminal where safety of data processing system is essential.

Moreover, in case of natural disaster and cyber terror, PNC’s DR Center is capable of immediate and sequential restoration of data processing resources and so securing business permanency within 3 hours of RTO (Recovery Time Objective). With this system in place PNC could improve terminal operation reliability to the clients.

“Being the automatic yard terminal, PNC is where the significance of IT system is more highlighted, as it can provide service reliability to customers under any circumstance of natural disaster and accident through the DR center established by CyberLogitec with their experience and expertise.” said Rowan Bullock, MD of DP World Korea and Operations Divisional Head of PNC.

PNC is operated by CyberLogitec’s TOS product, OPUS Terminal, which has been contributing to increasing productivity and maximizing operations efficiency. Currently, the Q/C average productivity (GMPH) is over 35 moves per hour, one of the world best level.
