A 'Stress-Free' Experience As Two Giant Electro Stations Head For St. Petersburg

JOC Staff |
Volga-Dnepr Airlines used all of its logistics expertise to move two giant electro stations each weigh 63.8 tonnes from Milan in Italy to Russia.

The cargoes were carried on board two AN-124-100 flights to St. Petersburg.

The flights utilized special services for complex cargo shipments provided by Volga-Dnepr Group's new Engineering & Logistics Center (ILC). In Milan, it took care of organizing special trailers to collect the electro stations from the production factory as well as the necessary authorization to move the oversize cargo by road to the airport.

Volga-Dnepr's ILC team also arranged airport passes, took care of all necessary documentation - including customs requirements -and ensured the correct special loading equipment was on site at the airport to complete a safe and timely loading process. One of the airline's loadmasters was on hand to oversee the whole procedure.

Dennis Gliznoutsa, Group Commercial Director (Charters), said: This is just a perfect demonstration of why we have launched the Engineering & Logistics Center. Using expertise and experience gained over 20 years in providing logistics solutions to the most complex challenges, we are now able to take deliver everything required to ensure our customers' cargo reaches its destination on-time and in perfect condition. We deliver a completely stress-free experience for them.
