Russian Railways and Tatravagonka sign scientific-technical cooperation deals

On 7 April in Bratislava, during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Slovakia, a range documents were signed, including one on railway transport. The official Russian delegation included representatives of Russian Railways, led by company president Vladimir Yakunin <http://eu.vocuspr.com/Url.aspx?522698x396171x490150&gt; .

The head of Russian Railways signed two agreements with Tatravagonka on developing scientific and technical cooperation. On behalf of Tatravagonka, the documents were signed by company CEO Alexey Belyayev.

The aim of the cooperation agreement is to develop projects to manufacture and test rolling stock.

The agreement provides for the exchange of engineering and technological documents, the training of specialists at Russian companies involved in joint goods wagon construction projects, and the testing of new types of goods wagons, fittings, and parts developed by both companies.
Under the second agreement, preparations are to be made for setting up a joint venture to design and manufacture freight wagons.
