Lion Containers Launch Apprenticeship Scheme

JOC Staff |
The Midlands firm, who have recently expanded to launch their own group encompassing biomass,
offshore and conversion operations, already employ apprentices. They have had such positive experiences
through hiring apprentices that they are launching this programme, and hope to expand the group even
further. The successful candidates will be working within the busy town centre office, and will have a wide
range of responsibilities from admin and customer service to contributing their ideas to the marketing and
business development plans. The role will be very hands on, and will provide a varied, fulfilling and exciting
set of new skills which will provide a valuable launch pad for their future career.
The National Apprenticeship Service recently launched a huge campaign to promote Apprenticeships, and
speaking at a recent event in parliament, John Hayes MP, Minister for Skills said "These young people are
an inspiration to anyone looking to break in to their chosen industry… apprenticeships not only deliver the
skills businesses need in order to grow, they also enable people to build long, fulfilling and productive
careers".
Laura Hucker, Lion Containers manager said “by launching this programme, we are selecting the very best
young local talent in order for us to expand our group further. There has been a lot of government talk
regarding schemes to provide young people with a future, we hope to support these schemes and help
strengthen our economy. We believe that we have a local responsibility to help these young people gain
valuable work experience and skills, our existing apprentices are worth their weight in gold and we hope to
uncover more local talent”
The firm will hold an open day between 10am‐1pm on Saturday 7th September where candidates are
invited to the office to meet some of the staff, have a brief interview with Laura and perform some day to
day tasks in order to get a taste for the role. If you wish to apply, please visit
