Toronto Port Authority Appoints Vice President Communications and Public Affairs

TORONTO, Jan. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - Geoffrey Wilson, President and CEO of the Toronto Port Authority, is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Wilson to the position of Vice President Communications and Public Affairs, effective immediately.

In this role Wilson will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing effective communication strategies and robust public affairs programs that will increase awareness of the Toronto Port Authority, its activities and its position on key issues that affect stakeholders and the community at large.

Wilson joins the Toronto Port Authority from Astral Media where she served as Vice President of Communications for the past nine years. Prior to joining Astral, she held senior positions at Alliance Atlantis, Look Communications, PricewaterhouseCoopers and American Express.

Wilson holds an undergraduate degree from The University of Western Ontario (now Western University) and a Master of Arts degree in Communications, Culture and Public Policy from York University. She is a former board member of the AV Preservation Trust, Canadian Women in Communications and Youth Media Alliance, and a past recipient of the IABC Gold Quill Award for Excellence in Communications Management.
