New Report Shows Freight Rail Expansion Creates Good, Green Jobs

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Tuesday, May 4 at 10:15 a.m. in the Cabinet Room of the Hilton Washington, the BlueGreen Alliance will release a joint report with the Economic Policy Institute showing that expansion of freight rail in the U.S. can create thousands of good, green jobs while reducing carbon emissions and our dependence on foreign oil.

Full Speed Ahead: Creating Green Jobs Through Freight Rail Expansion, which shows the potential to create jobs in manufacturing and construction as a result of freight rail expansion, will also provide policy recommendations to prepare today’s freight rail infrastructure for future demand for more efficient modes of transportation.
