SINGAPORE, December 17, 2009 - BDP Project Logistics, a leading privately held project logistics and transportation management services company, today announced the establishment of a new subsidiary – BDP Oil and Gas Logistics Pte Ltd. Incorporated with headquarters in Singapore, the new company will target the growing opportunities in the global oil and gas supply chain.

BDP Project Logistics and its parent company, BDP International (BDP), are already recognized as leaders in the energy, chemical and petrochemical logistics business. The new company will extend BDP’s service offerings to include mid and upstream market activities within the oil and gas supply chain, allowing BDP to offer a total service solution to oil and gas companies.

BDP already lists many of the world’s leading energy and petrochemical companies among its customers, including Shell, Exxon Mobil, DuPont, The Dow Chemical Company, INVISTA and Quinn Chemicals.

Martin Runshaug, commercial director of BDP Oil and Gas Logistics, said the vertical was formed to meet the need for a total logistics services provider that can offer total integrated logistics solutions with emphasis on quality, health, safety, environment and compliance.

“BDP Oil and Gas Logistics will service clients across the entire oil and gas value chain, explained Runshaug. “The new company combines BDP’s two principal strengths: its position as a global leader in the downstream sector as well as its expertise in project logistics.

“Our ability to offer turnkey logistics solutions – from supply chain management of rig and FPSO new building and conversions through to the transportation of heavy-lift structures supported by our in-house transport engineering division and finally logistics support for offshore and onshore assets in operation– is what gives BDP Oil and Gas Logistics an edge over its competitors,” he continued. “As a private family-owned company, BDP remains flexible in its management approach and agile in its decision making, enabling us to swiftly adjust to market conditions and tailor unique solutions to meet the exact needs of our clients.”

According to Runshaug, the energy sector is set to boom in the coming decade with an increase in exploration and production to meet the demands of emerging nations such as Brazil, Russia, India and China.

“BDP Oil and Gas Logistics expects significant activity in the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, West Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, China, India, and Australasia as well as the arctic regions,” said Runshaug.
