MAY 18, 2010/LONDON - Invensys Rail knows the importance of local investment in delivering such projects. It has recently opened a dedicated project office in Copenhagen and is in the process of recruiting a local team and identifying local partners. The Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce played a key role in helping Invensys Rail realise its plans for Denmark. The Chamber's knowledge, advice and guidance was considered invaluable by Invensys Rail, and both Invensys and the Chamber hope to continue to work closely over the coming months and years, with Invensys being able to make use of the Chamber's extensive knowledge of both the UK and Denmark.

Managing Director of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce, Gunnar Larsen, comments: We are very pleased indeed to welcome Invensys Rail to our Advisory Board. The role of the Advisory Board is to provide guidance to the Council of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce on its overall strategy and organisation. The idea is to draw on the collective experience, insight and vision embodied by our corporate members, thereby enabling the Chamber to position itself for the challenges of the future and help provide a higher level of service and benefits to its members. Having a company such as Invensys Rail on board is exactly what we had hoped for when establishing the Advisory Board. It is a large multinational corporation which maintains strong Danish-UK relations.

It is important for Invensys Rail to work in close collaboration with partners who are locally based with local knowledge, and plans are already in place to work in just this way in Denmark. As well as its own local personnel, Invensys Rail plans to work with a select group of Danish-based partners and make use of local expertise. In such a case, says Gunnar Larsen it is essential to make use of a Chamber of Commerce and its large network, if one wishes to avoid the many pitfalls which exist when moving across borders. Gunnar adds: The main activity of our Chamber of Commerce is to provide a forum for the Anglo-Danish business community where ideas and experiences can be shared. We currently comprise more than 110 corporate members, but we also welcome individual members. It is our first job to ensure that all members are offered value for their membership, which is why we are focusing on maintaining strong relations between Denmark and the UK thus providing our members with a large network of international decision makers.
