Werner Global Logistics Uses Descartes' OneView Solution to Streamline US Customs House Brokerage Operations

WATERLOO, Ontario, Sept. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Descartes Systems
Group (TSX:DSG) (Nasdaq:DSGX), the global leader in uniting
logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that Werner
Global Logistics U.S., LLC. (WGL), a subsidiary of Werner Enterprises,
is using the Descartes OneView Customs House Broker solution to run its
U.S. customs house brokerage operations. The solution helps WGL
streamline its customs house brokerage operations by using a single
platform for customs brokerage services along with Advanced Manifest
(AMS) and Importer Security Filing (ISF) filing services.

"To offer the high level of service that we provide to our customers
and support the growth of our business, we needed a robust, scalable
customs house brokerage solution that could be deployed quickly and
integrate within Werner's global TMS platform," said Dave Brenneman,
Senior Director of Operations at WGL. "Descartes' team of customs
experts were able to integrate the new system, provide training and
help make us more productive and efficient within the first month."

Descartes' OneView Customs House Broker (CHB) solution is an
enterprise-class application with end-to-end capabilities to manage
U.S. brokerage requirements, from entry preparation and filing through
to accounting. It was developed with advanced Message Queue (MQ)
capabilities and a direct link to U.S. Customs and Border Protection so
users can easily receive responses and customs status messages to
manage by exception.

The solution is template-driven to facilitate ease-of-use and leverage
existing data. Information entered into Descartes' security filing
systems such as ISF and AMS also populate brokerage transactions in
Descartes' OneView CHB solution to help improve productivity and
eliminate additional data entry. By implementing Descartes OneView,
customers like Werner can share the data common to customs operations
and security filings to improve operational efficiency and reduce
submission errors.

"We're thrilled to extend our relationship with WGL and help them to
provide the best service possible to their customers," said Scott
Sangster, Vice President Global Logistics Network at Descartes. "We
believe that leading logistics companies, such as Werner Global
Logistics U.S. LLC., want not only solutions with world-class
capabilities, but also the experienced resources to help them
accelerate time-to-value and improve operational efficiency."
