ATLANTA — Leading global supply chain solution provider SBS Worldwide has relocated its US accounting department to Atlanta in order to increase operational efficiency.

SBS Worldwide’s accounting department moved its base from Chicago to Atlanta earlier this month, joining up with the headquarters which made the move in January.

The company made the switch to the South East of the US to better align with its developing corporate vision.

SBS Worldwide CEO Lars Kloch explained: “Relocating the accounting office was a logical step for the business following the relocation of our headquarters.

“The accounting department’s move will increase the efficiency of our operations, meaning that we will remain cost effective within the market place.”

Mr. Kloch explained that the company decided to switch its headquarters to Atlanta as it placed the business closer to the majority of the country’s significant retailers that elect to base themselves in the South East.

He said: “More than 80% of the total population of the country can be reached within a two hour flight of Atlanta, which is great for providing a personal level of service to customers and also meeting potential new clients.

“Many of the top US manufacturers and retailers have positioned their distribution centers in the South East of the US and by headquartering in Atlanta we are able to provide the excellent local knowledge that these companies need to operate smooth supply chains.”

Atlanta is also located close to the port town of Savannah, which is the fastest growing port in the US over the last five years, providing SBS Worldwide with excellent global ocean links.
