SCRANTON, PA – March 31, 2014 - Third-party logistics provider Kane Is Able, Inc. (KANE -- www.kaneisable.com) has been listed on the E-Power Energy-Smart Business Honor Roll by Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) Electric Utilities Corporation of Allentown, Pennsylvania. This award notes KANE’s recent measures to make its Scranton campus distribution centers more energy efficient.

The project replaced high pressure sodium lighting with energy-efficient T8 lighting and installed motion sensors in distribution center 1. This facility was last distribution center in the campus to be upgraded. KANE also replaced older ballasts and light fixtures in offices and break rooms in seven distribution centers.

The cost of installation less the PPL rebates and energy savings gives this project a 2.2 year payback. After pay off, KANE will continue to see energy savings of approximately $15,230 per year, based on current usage.

The energy-saving project was generated by two associates in IdeaScale, KANE’s web-based platform for developing innovative ideas into effective solutions.

PPL’s E-Power Energy-Smart Business Honor Roll recognizes local businesses and organizations for taking measures to become more energy-efficient, and for demonstrating the kind of awareness and commitment that will lead communities to better energy and environmental practices today and into the future.
