Idaho Grower Shipper Association Partners with CHEP to Bolster Industry Education Initiatives

JOC Staff |
The Idaho Grower Shipper Association (IGSA), the trade organization representing shippers in the Idaho potato industry, is joining with CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container pooling solutions, to support the group’s educational activities. In return, the IGSA will promote the benefits of CHEP pallet pooling to its many members.

“The Idaho Grower Shipper Association and CHEP are working together to provide members with new opportunities through our Educational Seminar Luncheon series on issues like pricing strategy, food safety and merchandising. We are also jointly promoting the CHEP program, which provides shippers and growers with productivity and other benefits, and is increasingly becoming part of our members’ environmental sustainability efforts,” said Travis Blacker, President, Idaho Grower Shipper Association.

The CHEP pallet pooling program provides growers and shippers with durable shipping platforms that improve supply chain efficiency and lower product damage. CHEP’s global reach also ensures a reliable supply of pallets and is the most environmentally friendly option for shipping platforms.

“CHEP and The Idaho Grower Shipper Association have formed a mutually beneficial partnership that will truly benefit of their many shipper and trade members. We are committed to providing the association with the resources they need to present educational events that help move the industry forward,” said Tim Smith, Vice President, Business Development, CHEP.
