GAC India launches GAC CONSOLE service

23 February, 2011 – GAC Logistics India has further enhanced its inter-regional connections with the launch of CONSOLE, a new direct import consolidation service for shipments from the Far East. The new service offers a direct, weekly service which enables cargo from Shanghai, Shenzhen and Ningbo in mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore to be shipped directly to the western Indian port of Nhava Sheva, rather than being routed via Singapore as a transshipment hub. It is headed by Godfrey Franklin, GAC India’s Sales Manager, Imports.

Growing trade
Gracias Thevar, GAC India’s Country Manager - Logistics, says the new service reflects the growing importance of India as a market for products from the Far East, and demands for quicker delivery at a competitive price.

“The launch of CONSOLE signals our commitment to help customers stay ahead of the game, offering best-in-class connectivity and price, while increasing cargo safety standards and reducing transit times by eliminating transshipment through Singapore,” he adds.

“Customers who use CONSOLE can expect their shipments to arrive much faster - cargo sent direct from the China mainland takes 15 days, compared to 22-25 days when sent via Singapore.

“India is China’s largest trading partner. CONSOLE facilitates trade between businesses in both countries - especially small and medium-sized enterprises - by providing a vital link to help them extend their global reach in the most cost-efficient way with the added benefits of flexibility and reliability.”
